About this place
The pleasure of dining over a steaming hot pot of shabu-shabu or sukiyaki begins with choosing the cut of beef and the course tailored to the occasion. At Kisoji Shin-Koiwa, courses are organized by meat grades to suit individual palates, ranging from accessible domestic beef loin to finely marbled Wagyu and premium selected marbled Wagyu. A standard shabu-shabu course includes meat and assorted fresh vegetables alongside an appetizer, rice, and pickles, followed by a comforting bowl of flat kishimen noodles and mochi, rounded off with dessert.
Sukiyaki with Tailored Portions and Noodle Finishes
For sukiyaki—where beef and vegetables simmer together in a sweet-savory broth—diners can choose both the grade of meat and the portion size according to appetite, with options for small (90g), standard (120g), or large (180g) servings. Each sukiyaki set is accompanied by egg and a tomato salad, finishing with kishimen noodles that absorb the savory pan juices. In the shabu-shabu set, guests also have the flexibility to swap the traditional kishimen and mochi finish for Chinese-style noodles if they prefer.
Combining Seafood Courses and Seasonal Dishes
Beyond classic hot pots, the kitchen prepares a broad repertoire of traditional Japanese dishes, including sashimi and tempura. Multi-course combinations unite land and sea, such as the Hokkai Shabu-Shabu Course featuring fresh sashimi and butter-grilled scallops, or the Torafugu and Shabu-Shabu Course that includes blowfish sashimi and deep-fried fugu. An à la carte menu with choices like assorted Pacific bluefin tuna sashimi, snow crab nigiri sushi, and tempura platters allows parties to expand their meal with shared side dishes.
A Serene Traditional Setting for Family Milestones
The quiet, traditionally styled interior features horigotatsu sunken-floor seating and private tatami rooms, offering a calm environment removed from the open dining space. With baby chairs and dedicated children's menus on hand, the branch regularly accommodates family celebrations, from okuizome infant-weaning banquets to first-birthday milestones. Free on-site parking adds practical convenience, making it a reliable choice for casual daytime gatherings as well as formal dinner events.
